Who is the course for ?
The Level 2 Award in Food Safety is suitable for all food handlers, and meets the requirements for training recommended in the Industry guides to good practice for handlers of open and high risk food. Learners may be already be working in a food environment or looking to work in the food industry. The course was formally known as the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
What will I learn ?
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of every one involved in the storage, preparation, cooking, service and handling of food. The topics covered are regarded by the Food Standards Agency as being important in the good practices used for the safe production of food
Topics include Food Storage, Preparation and Cooking, Food Service, Cleaning and Disinfection, Food Poisoning and Foodbourne Illness, Personal Hygiene, Pest Control and Legislation
How will I be assessed ?
The course is assessed by a 1 Hour, 30 question multi choice question paper.
The nationally accredited course is externally marked and certificated by one of the following Awarding Organisations
